Saskatoon police won’t be laying charges after investigating a death in a home on Preston Avenue South.
Officers responded to a call of an injured man at 1501 Preston Ave. S around 1 a.m. on March 11. The 29-year-old was taken to hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
At that time, a 36-year-old woman was taken into custody.
On Monday, police reported they finished their investigation. They found the man had broken into the home, forcing the woman to defend herself and her children.
Police said they went over the evidence with the Crown prosecutors’ office, with the Crown finding no reasonable chance of convicting the woman of any offence related to the death.
Police said the man and woman were tenants in the same building, but otherwise had no connection to one another.
