Fuel spill on Highway 2

Saskatoon RCMP are at the scene of a diesel fuel spill on Highway 2, where earlier this afternoon a fuel truck overturned.

Highway 2 is closed between the intersections with Highway 16 and Highway 5. Drivers in the area can expect delays and detours are being but in place. There are been no evacuations as there is is nothing in the immediate vicinity.

The truck was the only vehicle involved in the incident that happened near Meacham.

The driver was flown to hospital by STARS air ambulance, RCMP didn’t know the extend of his injuries.

Sask Environment has been notified and will be organizing a cleanup of the fuel spill.
