It was a hot start to an already warm week for Saskatoon firefighters.
Fire crews and police surrounded a three-storey apartment building on Matheson Drive Monday morning.
Battalion Chief David Nahachewsky said there was significant fire from a suite below the roof, which was visible on the second storey.
Crews managed to extinguish flames before 8 a.m., but spent time afterwards on the roof seeking out hot spots.
“We’re just making sure there’s no extension to further suites and into the roof where it can spread to the rest of the building,” Nahachewsky said from the scene.
No injuries have been reported.
The cause of the fire is still unknown.
The investigation is ongoing.
