The North York Rangers shut out the Saskatoon Contacts 5-0 in the first game for both teams at the Telus Cup in Quispamsis, New Brunswick on Monday.
North York blew open the game with three second-period goals, including a shorthanded marker from William Calverley.
Rangers goaltender Jett Alexander made 22 saves in net for the shut out.
Carson Albrecht was named the Contacts’ player of the game.
The Contacts face Lac St-Louis on Tuesday.
