A woman is dead and a man is facing charges after a two-vehicle collision just north of Kamsack Monday night.
RCMP say they were called to Highway 8 around 8:30 p.m. where a four-door car and an SUV collided.
The 78-year-old woman in the northbound vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene.
A man and woman were in the SUV. Both were taken to hospital in Kamsack before paramedics arrived on the scene.
The woman was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
The man, meanwhile, fled from the hospital before getting treated. He was tracked down on the nearby Keeseekoose First Nation.
Jonathon Scott Straightnose,36, is charged with failing to stop at the scene of an accident and driving while disqualified.
Alcohol is not believed to be a factor in the collision.
