Regina police are asking for the public’s help as officers investigate two reports of gunfire in the early hours of Tuesday.
Regina police officers were called out to the 2300 block of Broad Street at 2:37 a.m. on Tuesday after a man reported hearing something that sounded like gun shots and then a vehicle accelerating. The caller didn’t actually see anything.
A few minutes after the first report at 2:41 a.m., police got another call about possible gun shots. This time it was on the 2200 block of Rae Street, which is very close to the first location.
After an extensive search of the scene on Broad Street later in the day, police officers believe they found evidence to suggest that gun shots were fired, but they are not certain if the bullets hit anything. A search of the second location did not reveal any physical evidence.
At this point, police are not sure if these two incidents are related.
Anyone with information related to these events is asked to call the Regina Police Service at 306-777-6500 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
