A Regina woman who caused quite the scene at the Saskatchewan legislative building last year has learned her fate.
Gianina Burnard, 27, has been given a suspended sentence and eight months probation.
Three people tried to gain entry to the legislature over a four-day stretch in August 2015. On Aug. 26, Burnard and Colin Rich, 32, tried to enter the building again but were denied. A physical confrontation ensued resulting in a peace officer being assaulted. The officer was taken to hospital with injuries not considered serious.
Burnard recently pleaded guilty to assaulting a peace officer.
