One of two men charged in the 2014 theft of a tricked-out drag racer was sentenced Monday at Saskatoon Court of Queen’s Bench.
Sheldon Owen Killam pleaded guilty for his role in stealing the Scat Rat — a 1968 Oldsmobile Cutlass that owner Bob Heroux spent years putting work into. The motor alone was worth about $20,000.
The car was found in pieces after the Canada long weekend two years ago after being stolen from a local autobody shop.
Killam was sentenced to two years in jail.
Jason Leslie Brown, the second man charged with the theft, had his most significant charge of theft over $5,000 dropped. He is due to be sentenced on lesser charges on June 24.
