Four styles of Munchkin Latch Pacifier & Clip have been recalled in Canada over a possible choking hazard.
In a recall notice Thursday, the company explains the decorative colour disc may detach from the metal plate of the pacifier clip, posing a risk to kids.
Around 16,000 units of the affected product were sold in Canada between July 2014 to February 2016.
Ten reports have been made to Munchkin Inc., which includes Munchkin Baby Canada Inc., of the disc detaching – five in the United States and five in Canada – with no reported injuries.
Health Canada said parents should immediately take the recalled pacifier holders away from children and contact the company for a replacement of a two-pack Latch Lightweight Pacifier, or a refund.
Those not satisfied with the offer may receive a refund if they return the entire product.
The recalled Munchkin Latch Lightweight Pacifier & Clip is available in four styles: designer, rattle, 0m+ and 6m+, and Heartbeat attachment style.
Health Canada said it has not received any reports of customer incidents or injuries to Canadians related to the use of this product.
