A trail of blood was left outside of the front doors of the Pump Roadhouse Friday morning after a shooting there that sent two men to hospital with serious injuries.
Lexie Hartman was outside of the club smoking when somebody brushed past her.
“All I saw was this (other) guy smiling coming out of the club and then the next thing I know, the guy who pushed me to the side pulled a gun out of his pocket and shot him.”
As the shot happened, Hartman said she fainted.
A girl who was on the dance floor when the shooting happened told News Talk Radio that she heard the shots, following by the sound of people screaming as they began pushing each other.
She described blood on the walls and floor, as well as broken glass. She even saw a bullet hole in the wall, and hid behind a TV in the moments after the shots rang out.
Michael Medby didn’t hear the shots as he was downstairs doing karaoke.
“We were waiting for our song to come up and they turned on the lights, shut off the music and told everybody to leave.”
That’s when Medby noticed people were saying shots had been fired upstairs.
As he reached the main level, Medby noticed a man sitting at a table, visibly upset.
“I went up to him and asked, ‘what’s the matter?’ And he goes, ‘my buddy got shot, my buddy got shot’.”
Medby began helping the man look for his friend. They tracked him down in the kitchen area, surrounded by a group of people trying to help.
“They were saying things like, ‘keep the pressure on’ and all this. And I saw his feet sticking out from under a mass of people and then more blood than I’ve seen in my life.”
As Medby then left the building, he noticed the blood on the pavement outside.
Medby saw the man from the kitchen taken away in the ambulance. From the trail of blood, Medby thought the other man who had been shot likely made it outside somehow.
Police say the call about the shooting came in shortly after 1 a.m. Medby saw officers taping off the area and talking to people as he left the building.
Police say paramedics took the two men, aged 22 and 35, to hospital. The men are said to be in stable condition. Officers haven’t said anything more about whether it was a random attack or what happened in the bar.
