For the second time in the past week a shooting in Regina left one man injured.
A beautiful Thursday night along a busy street in the city was interrupted, when a young man was shot on Dewdney Avenue between Robinson and Retallack Streets.
The Regina Police Service was called to the 2900 block around 8:15 p.m. after the 21-year-old reported being been shot near the 7/11.
Police say the shot came from a vehicle that was parked nearby. The vehicle then took off. Police haven’t been able to track down the suspect or the other people who were inside the vehicle.
Dustin Eashappia may not have seen the shooting, but living and working in the same block as this particular crime, he is seeing criminal activity in the area pick up lately.
“It’s just been getting worse and worse every night since last week. It could be due to the weather. It’s how the neighbourhood is right, it’s how North Central is,” he said. “I basically know how the neighbourhood is now. It’s getting rougher and rougher every night.”
He said he’s not overly concerned, believing if you stay out of other people’s business nobody will bother you.
Police say it’s unknown at this point what type of firearm was used.
