A man has been brought back to Saskatchewan from Alberta to face charges of sexual exploitation and sexual assault against two victims
According to police, the 47-year-old man lived in the community of Cabri, near Swift Current, for a while. He was charged with six counts of sexual interference, three counts invitation to sexual touching, and four counts of sexual assault. Sexual interference and invitation to sexual touching are only laid when the victim is under the age of 16.
The charges were laid in March 2015, but the man wasn’t arrested until March 2016 in Calgary.
The man’s name can’t be published due to a publication ban put in place to protect the identity of the victims. He was in court on Monday, and will be in court again in Swift Current on Wednesday.
This is the second incident of sexual exploitation in the small community in the past year. Last spring, Ryan Chamberlin, a former hockey coach in Cabri, was charged and ultimately pleaded guilty to sexual assault and child luring. Chamberlin was 39 years old at the time.
