Thick black smoke and flames were visible northwest of Saskatoon along Highway 16 Wednesday morning.
“Really black smoke, you can see the flames from the highways,” said a driver who was coming in from Dalmeny around 6:45 a.m.
CKOM traffic reporter Jay Thomas also saw big plumes of smoke in the area, but said by 7 a.m. the flames were no longer visible.
He said emergency crews were the scene, which appears to be off the highway and in what looks like an acreage.
