Regina police are now treating the death of a man on Elphinstone Street as a murder investigation.
Wilburn Albert Campbell, 37, was found seriously hurt on the street very close to Sacred Heart Community School early Tuesday evening. It was still daylight at 7:35 p.m. when police responded. Officers performed CPR until EMS arrived. He was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead about an hour later.
Neighbours said it looked like Campbell had been stabbed, but so far police have not confirmed any of those details.
Campbell is the third person to be killed in the city this year. All three deaths have been in the North Central neighbourhood.
Regina police major crimes unit has been interviewing witnesses and gathering evidence at the scene. But police are asking anyone with information to contact 306-777-6500 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
