A 21-year-old man is dead after a serious crash between a semi and a truck on a grid road one mile southeast of Beechy, Sask.
Police say the pickup truck was heading south on Thursday morning when it collided with a semi-tractor trailer travelling west.
The 21-year-old man who was driving the truck died at the scene of the crash. RCMP confirmed that he was from the community of Beechy which is about 125 kilometres northeast of Swift Current.
The semi driver from Saskatoon was treated at the scene for minor injuries.
The crash site is along a secondary road and was blocked to traffic for most of the day on Thursday during the investigation.
Kyle RCMP also reported that a small amount of motor leaked from the tanker the semi was hauling which required an environmental cleanup. As of 4 p.m., RCMP expected the road to remain closed for several hours to complete the investigation and the cleanup.
