A Regina man is facing a charge of second-degree murder in his wife’s death.
Police announced the charge early Tuesday morning after Sandeep Kaur Tehara’s body was discovered early Sunday morning.
Officers doing a welfare check on a home on Upland Drive discovered the 38-year-old woman’s body. Investigators remained on the scene throughout Sunday and Monday.
Jagdish Singh Tehara’s first court appearance Tuesday morning was quick.
The 39-year-old was wearing a black and grey striped shirt and a white durag on his head when he stepped into the prisoner box at provincial court. His face was mostly obscured by a large black beard.
He seemed confused during the short appearance, having trouble finding the right place to stand in the box, and not responding to the judge when she asked him questions. A legal-aid lawyer spoke to Tehara and the matter was over quickly.
Tehara will be in court again next week.
