The trial for two alleged lovers accused of plotting to kill each other’s spouses is set to begin at Prince Albert’s Court of Queen’s Bench Tuesday.
Curtis Vey of Wakaw and Angela Nicholson of Melfort were charged in July 2013 with conspiracy to commit murder after an investigation by RCMP.
Police told Nicholson’s husband they had been tipped off about a plot, which involved him dying of an overdose on Halloween 2013 and Vey’s wife dying in a house fire.
RCMP confirmed the case was connected to an extramarital affair.
Vey and Nicholson were jointly charged with conspiracy to commit murder, meaning they cannot testify against each other.
Questions expected to be answered during the trail include what’s on three recordings, who tipped off the police, were Vey and Nicholson having an affair, and how their alleged love affair precipitated into a murder conspiracy.
