A 19-year-old man is facing charges after someone called police about a man with a firearm Wednesday afternoon.
Officers responded to a residence in the 900 block of Avenue H North around 3:30 p.m., after two people outside were threatened by a man with a firearm.
The suspect went back inside the residence before officers arrived.
With help from several police units including tactical support, canine, guns and gangs, crisis negotiators and patrol, five adults left the residence.
Police said no one, including an infant inside the home at the time, was injured during the incident.
After searching the home, police found and seized a sawed-off rifle.
A 19-year-old man faces a number of weapons charges in connection to this incident, along with counts of possessing stolen property, uttering threats and breaching a court order.
He will make a second appearance in Provincial Court on May 30 at 10:30 a.m.
Police said another man was also arrested during this incident for outstanding warrants.
