The company that will take a closer look into whether SaskTel is vulnerable to a takeover has been selected.
Mark H. Goldberg & Associates will act as the independent third party that will carry out a risk analysis for the crown agency. It comes after MTS in Manitoba was bought out by Bell. That acquisition resulted in SaskTel being left as the only small, regional carrier in the country. That means it has to partly rely on sharing infrastructure from larger, private carriers.
In a release from SaskTel, it explains how Goldberg will look at the risks and impacts the MTS acquisition may have on the Saskatchewan carrier.
The review is expected to be complete by the third week of June, at which time it’ll be made public.
