According to Corrections Canada, foul play is not suspected in the death of Richard Daniel Wolfe.
The 40-year-old inmate, and co-founder of the Indian Posse, was found in medical distress last Friday at Saskatchewan Penitentiary in Prince Albert and died later in hospital.
Jeff Campbell with Corrections Canada told paNOW there was no indication of criminal involvement in Wolfe’s death.
Wolfe, who was known to have serious health problems, had been serving a five-year sentence since January for an attack on a Fort Qu’Appelle couple in 2014.
The exact cause of death will be released by the province’s chief coroner when investigations conclude.
