Lumsden Lynx hosts Female Hockey Day to celebrate young women and girls in sports

The day-long event welcomes over 250 female hockey players from ages four to 22.
We all know how Rider fans like to celebrate their team, but fans of the Saskatchewan Rush are quickly making a name for themselves.
Saskatoon’s Jordon Kropla can back up his die-hard fan claim.
After the Rush defeated Buffalo in game one of the best-of-three National Lacrosse League Championship, Kropla got to work on building the ultimate Rush tailgate trailer.
“Saturday’s is its maiden voyage. It’s all washed up and ready to go,” said Kropla.
The towable cheer section has all the bells and whistles: barbeque, two coolers, a flip up bar table and astro turf.
No detail was overlooked. The trailer is painted in Rush green and at the back flies a Rush flag.
“It was honestly was on the street for probably five minutes before people were coming out for pictures,” he said from his home Friday.
To enhance the experience further, Kropla stocked up on an array of tailgater accessories; green solo cups, chairs and a green cow bell.
“We figured let’s get people out, let’s get people excited about the games, more so than they already are.”
For Kropla, it’s all about soaking up the game day experience.
“Tailgating is such a huge thing in the states that figured let’s try and have a version of it here.”
“What better than a Rush game with 15,000 people.”
Fans will find Kropla’s trailer parked outside SaskTel Centre on Saturday afternoon.
