The Petro-Canada locations in the Battlefords have run out of gas.
The shortage is happening at locations all over Western Canada.
According to a release by Petro-Canada, the temporary fuel shortage is due to the Fort McMurray fires as well as an unplanned outage at its Edmonton refinery.
The company is trying to improve the situation by bringing additional supplies from the refinery and are restarting oil sands operations in a “safe and staged manner.”
Gasoline is being shipped from other parts of the Petro-Canada network via truck and train.
The company said it is prioritizing shipments to areas where there are limited or no other options of fuelling.
