After months of searching, the body of a missing Lac La Ronge snowmobiler has been found.
Billy Taylor’s body was discovered Wednesday by local searchers from the Lac La Ronge Indian Band.
The 36-year-old was found near Potato Island, close to where his family believed Taylor had fallen through the ice while snowmobiling.
Taylor had been missing since Dec. 17, 2015, when he left his house in Fox Point on snowmobile heading to La Ronge.
During the months between his disappearance and recovery, his family used high-tech equipment such as sonar and underwater drones, and brought in searchers from Arlington, Washington.
His father, Bill Taylor Sr., said search crews had been out every day searching for Taylor since he disappeared.
RCMP said they are not considering foul play in Taylor’s death.
Taylor leaves behind a wife and children.
