One woman is dead and another was left with injuries after being hit by a driver in Fond-du-Lac, a community in the far north of Saskatchewan.
Delaine Lidguerre, 20, and a 24-year-old woman, both from Fond-du-Lac, were walking when they were hit by a truck travelling the same direction at 9:15 a.m. Thursday.
Lidguerre was transported to the Fond-du-Lac Clinic where she was pronounced dead.
Korgan Mercredi, 18, was arrested at the scene and charged with one count of impaired driving causing death and two counts of impaired driving causing bodily harm.
Mecredi will make his first appearance in La Ronge Provincial Court June 13 at 9:30 a.m.
The investigation into the incident continues.
