Regina police make arrests as 4th window shot out in North Central

Regina police have made arrests after a number of shootings over the weekend, which included a window being shot out at a home in North Central – the fourth such incident in that neighbourhood in a week.

Police say the home was shot at just before midnight on Saturday. 

It was one week before when the first home in the neighbourhood had its window shot out. It happened on Garnet Street near 2nd Avenue. The second happened just a few days later, early on Wednesday morning, on Robinson Street near 8th Avenue. The third was early Thursday morning when a bedroom window was shot out in a home on Rae Street near 5th Avenue.

On Thursday police said they hadn’t found any connection between the incidents. 

Along with the window being shot out on Saturday, police said there were several incidents involving guns. 

Police received a call Friday around 1:30 p.m. about a man with a gun on Robinson Street near 5th Avenue. Five hours later, they got a similar report from Robinson Street about five blocks away. 

On Saturday, police got a call just before noon about men in a car pointing a gun on Robinson Street near 7th Avenue, then around 4 p.m. police were called about a gunshot heard three blocks away on 8th Avenue near Retallack. 

According to police, several people were arrested on Saturday and Sunday, and several guns seized that are believed to be related to these incidents.

No one was hurt in any of the reports, but police said on Sunday that charges are pending.
