Some residents could have to come up with other ways to get water, at least until city crews get to work.
The city confirmed a water outage in south Saskatoon at 11:40 a.m. Monday.
Yellow precautionary drinking water advisory door hangers were left on affected homes in the 2900 block of Jasper Avenue.
The yellow-coloured advisory indicates residents should use caution when using the water supply and includes details about boiling water, what to expect, and contact information.
Within eight hours of outage, an emergency water supply trailer will be delivered to the area.
Residents may also use shower facilities at the nearest city leisure centres for free, with proof of address through a driver’s licence or utility bill.
The city said under normal circumstances, the repair is scheduled for the following day, with water back on within 24-48 hours.
After repair, it said water should still be boiled before drinking until a green water advisory lifted door hanger arrives
