As Canada Post braces for a possible work stoppage as early as Saturday, the City of Saskatoon is preparing for business as usual.
Parcel and mail delivery could come to a halt if contract negotiations remain frosty between the corporation and the union representing around 500,000 of its workers.
Despite this, the city said there’s no reason payments cannot be made on time.
It strongly recommends using the city’s online system, and is even offering incentives for people to switch to paperless eBills.
Residents should have received any paper bills from the city prior to the Canada Day long weekend.
People are strongly encouraged to use the following payment options with respect to their utilities, property tax notice, parking tickets, invoices and pet licencing to ensure that payments continue to be made on time:

- At your banking institution.
- Through online banking.
- In-person at city hall (main floor), 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- Drop off cheque in the night deposit outside the front of city hall.
- Drop off cheque in the drop box inside city hall.
2016 Property Tax Payment Options: Due June 30
- Internet Banking Options – Taxes may be paid online using internet banking options.
- Financial Institutions – Taxes can be paid while doing regular business at most financial institutions and banks.
- In-person at city hall (main floor), 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Reminder if paying by debit, customers should be checking their daily limit withdrawal with their financial institution prior to coming down.

- Pay your ticket online at Pay a Parking Ticket on the homepage of saskatoon.ca.

- Purchase or renew your pet licence online.
- In-person at city hall (main floor), 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., at the Saskatoon Animal Control Agency, SPCA or any participating pet licence vendors.
