'Considering the circumstances ... this is best-case scenario,' Cole Cusitar said.
After losing to the Argonauts in the week-two season-opener Thursday night, the Saskatchewan Roughriders have made a trade with Toronto.
On Saturday, the green and white announced Shawn Lemon has been traded to the Argos, along with a conditional pick in the 2018 CFL draft.
In return, the Riders get national offensive lineman Matt Sewell and international quarterback Mitchell Gale.
Sewell – a six-foot-seven, 340-pound McMaster product – is in his third CFL season, having played 35 regular-season games.
Gale comes to Saskatchewan after joining the Argos ahead of the 2013 season. He’s played in 33 regular-season games, completing nine of 29 pass attempts for 100 yards and two touchdowns.
