Family members have confirmed through social media that the human remains found south of Lac La Ronge First Nation on Friday are those of a man from the La Ronge area.
Todd McCormick, 45, has been missing since May 11. He was last seen at a home in La Ronge on May 8.
At the time of his disappearance, his family said McCormick had health issues and it was out of character for him to be out of contact for so long.
On his Facebook page, someone wrote “we’re all going to miss you so much Todd, but now we know you’re in a better place and at peace.”
RCMP have not officially released the identity of the remains found, but have said the death is considered suspicious.
An autopsy will be done at Saskatoon City Hospital.
