If you’re heading to the shops this weekend along Victoria Avenue east you’ll need to be aware of some major construction.
The underpass at Ring Road will be closed from 7 p.m. Friday to 6 a.m. Monday. The city is taking this approach in order to minimize disruption during the week days when traffic volumes are higher.
There are extensive diversions in place.
Those heading eastbound will reroute south to Arcola Avenue to turn around, those in a westbound direction will be rerouted north to turn around at Ross Avenue.
Norm Kyle, the director of transportation with the City of Regina, hopes drivers will look for alternate routes.
“We are actually encouraging people to use Ross, Dewdney or Arcola, because the paving work on Dewdney is scheduled to be done,” he explained.
Drivers can also consider approaching Victoria Avenue east using University Park Drive or Prince of Wales.
