The Taste of Saskatchewan festival kicks off on Tuesday.
Show manager Scott Ford said crews were able to get everything set up at Kiwanis park, including giant tents to keep festival-goers dry during rainfall expected Tuesday.
“But the rest of the week looks really great, and we’re open for business as usual so we just work with the weather,” he said.
Although rain’s not ideal for opening day, Ford said he doesn’t believe the festival has never had a completely rain-free run any time in its 21-year history.
“It’s an outdoor event, so you just know that you’re never going to get six perfect days,” said Ford.
Ford said five new restaurants will be setting up this time around, with many familiar eateries also adding new menu items.
Taste of Saskatchewan is running at Kiwanis Memorial Park from Tuesday to Sunday. The festival opens at 11 a.m. each day, closing at 10:30 p.m. on Wedesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Closing time is 9:30 p.m. on Tuesday and 8 p.m. on Sunday.
