A Regina man has been sentenced in connection with the city’s first murder of 2016.
On Tuesday, Skylar Blue Alexson, 23, pleaded guilty to manslaughter in the death of 26-year-old Joshua Harden. Alexson received nine years, eight months in jail, but was given credit for time served reducing it to nine years.
Alexson was originally charged with second degree murder but pleaded guilty to a lesser charge.
It was in the early morning hours of February 20, 2016 when several people, including Alexson, attacked Harden. Regina police were called to the 700 block of Garnet Street in North Central where Harden was found stabbed and injured. He later died in hospital.
