The final Delta Airlines flight from Regina to Minneapolis left Sunday afternoon.
The end of this route leaves the Regina airport without a year-round international flight.
Many of the people taking the final flight were disappointed by the ending.
Travis Hawkis said the cancelling is a problem for him.
“Very disappointed I take this flight quite a bit to the states and it’s going to create some problems for me, business-wise as well as personal.”
Mitch Myer is from Regina but lives in the United States. He said the Minneapolis flight was a good one for him.
“We’re real disappointed obviously, it was a nice flight to be able to fly to Raleigh-Durham (International Airport) and then to Minneapolis, then here.”
Myer said he thinks the end of this flight will mean changes for him.
“Now it’ll be a longer flight, more expensive, but we’ll certainly keep coming back.”
Ken Lewderback said the end of the regular Minneapolis flight would mean changes for him as well.
“We’ll probably fly into Minot or Saskatoon and drive down”
Despite the loss there were some passengers optimistic that a replacement flight could be found.
Cory Peters was heading to San Diego via Minneapolis.
“Things have come, things have gone, wed never would have thought that we would have had direct flights to Denver or Chicago. Was a good run while those lasted too, hopefully something will come around again.”
The Regina Airport Authority said earlier this week that it’s still looking for a new year-round flight to the U.S.
