The north side of Wascana Park at the University of Regina’s College Avenue campus could one day look a lot different.
There is a plan for the city to donate five acres of land near Darke Hall to the university, who will then lease out the land to Conexus Credit Union for revenue to pay for the ongoing College Avenue Campus Renewal Project.
“Conexus is the recipient of that and they will build what appears to be a head office, a consolidation of their offices, at that location,” Mayor Michael Fougere explained. “My understanding is that the money would refurbish and fix up the buildings on College Avenue, including Darke Hall.”
A report on the plan will be presented at the Regina City Council meeting on August 29 for approval.
You can see more details of the plans at www.regina.ca or in the Finance Committee Packet for Tuesday, August 3, 2016.
