It could be a tight race for mayor in Saskatoon if the results of a new poll are accurate.
A Postmedia poll conducted by Mainstreet Research last week randomly surveyed 803 people on who they would vote for on Oct. 26.
According to the poll, 29 per cent of respondents said they would vote for incumbent Don Atchison; 26 per cent supported Charlie Clark and 15 per cent would back Henry Dayday.
With less than three months before voters head to the ballot box, there are plenty of votes up for grabs with 26 per cent of those surveyed indicating they were undecided on their choice candidate.
People polled were also split on the issue of a new arena to replace the aging Sasktel Centre, with 40 per cent in favour of exploring the idea compared to 35 per cent who would prefer to see a renovation.
“One thing that Saskatoon residents are sure of is that the quality of their roads isn’t getting any better,” said David Valentin, executive vice-president of Mainstreet Research, in a news release Wednesday.
“Forty-two per cent say their quality is staying the same, while another 39 per cent say the quality is actually getting worse,” he said.
The poll has a margin of error of +/- 3.46 per cent, 19 times out of 20.
