The field at the new Mosaic Stadium now has a carpet of green.
The @YQRStadium twitter account tweeted a few photos of what the turf looks like at this point in the installation process.
They started rolling out the green carpet on July 12 and the field surface was expected to be finished in five weeks. Right now the turf is completely laid out so it almost looks finished, but there is still work to be done before it is complete.
The turf itself is the same kind used in several NFL stadiums and it’s made from 30,000 recycled tires.
The University of Regina Rams and University of Saskatchewan Huskies will be the first to play on the new field in a test game set for October 1.
