Premier Brad Wall has issued a statement reacting to the fatal shooting of a Saskatchewan man.
22-year old Colton Boushie was shot and killed near Biggar on Tuesday, 54-year-old Gerald Stanley is charged with 2nd degree murder.
What followed was reaction on social media that RCMP have described as disturbing and possibly criminal in some instances.
In a statement on his Facebook page, Wall says racist and hate-filled comments on social media in relation to the death have to stop.
Wall says they are not only unacceptable, but are also a “betrayal of the values and character of Saskatchewan.”
He also extended his support to the RCMP, which has faced criticism for its handling of the case.
