Another mayoral hopeful is throwing their hat in the ring.
Urban and regional planner Kelley Moore wants to put her government and business experience to work in Saskatoon. She announced her candidacy on Monday with the hope to make the city safer and more financially stable.
“Saskatoon is ready for a change,” Moore told CKOM, “If were going to get our budget under control and improve safety we need new leadership and a fresh perspective.”
A small business owner and current director of the Ministry of Social Services Community and Client Services Centre, Moore says she is qualified, despite the campaign being a rookie politician.
“I have spent my entire career in small business and in government”
“I’m not part of the establishment and I think sometimes you need that perspective.”
Moore will be up against long serving mayor Don Atchison, who has held the post since 2003. Also running is Ward 6 councillor Charlie Clark and former mayor Henry Dayday.
The election is October 26.
