Saskatoon police have arrested a 31-year-old man in relation to an armed robbery at a gas station last weekend.
Officers responded to the business in the 1100 block of Idylwyld Drive North around 3:30 a.m. Saturday.
A worker told police a man entered the store, grabbed some items to buy and went to the cashier. When he was asked for payment, the suspect showed a firearm.
Police said the man fled the scene with food and cigarettes before officers arrived.
Dogs were used to track the suspect, but that was unsuccessful.
Police said Friday the man was arrested initially for an unrelated investigation on weapons and drug charges Aug. 25.
He is now charged with robbery, breach of probation and six firearms offences stemming from last weekend’s incident.
The man has been remanded and will appear in court Aug. 29, 2016.
