'You kind of circle this one on the calendar' Dressler excited for return to Mosaic

The 2016 Labour Day Classic is expected to be a memorable one Sunday afternoon, being the last at Taylor Field and the anticipated return of a past fan favorite.

Former Roughrider Weston Dressler returns to Mosaic Stadium for the first time since being released by the Riders in January. Shortly after, he signed east down the Trans-Canada Highway with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers.

Dressler’s first season in the Manitoba capital has been a rough one, as he has battled a number of injuries from a concussion to a leg injury. Dressler hasn’t played since July 28 against the Edmonton Eskimos.

It appears Dressler is close to returning to the Bomber’s line up, but it remains unclear whether he will suit up against the Riders.

Speaking with CJOB, a radio station in Winnipeg, Dressler said he’s looking forward to the game.

“You know, you kind of circle this one on the calendar, against your old team, you know we’ll see, we’ll see what happens throughout the week.”

Dressler said he’s ready to play.

“I am confident, I felt good today and I don’t foresee any problems, so I am hoping to be good to go.”

Dressler added he hasn’t felt any pain in recent days and said he does feel ready to go.
