Rider fans were dejected while Bomber fans were riding high, after a late field goal put the Bombers over the Riders for the first time in 11 years at the Labour Day Classic.
A few Rider fans were in shock, one of those fans was Collett.
“Wow, missed the field goal that’s all I can say, wow.”
Another fan remarked how much the missed convert in the fourth quarter hurt the team.
“One conversion, that was it, that could have been the game, could have been the turning point for us, for the rest of the season.”
Some fans felt kicker Tyler Crapigna deserved lots of blame for the loss – Ed was one of them.
“I think we’ve got to blame the kicker, I think he cost us the game.”
Ed said, other than the missed kicks, he felt the team played alright.
Lots of Rider fans, like Mick Panco, were disappointed with the result but felt the game was a good one.
“Entertaining but disappointing obviously, so close at the end is a little heart breaking.”
Bomber fans were very happy with the result
One Bomber fan was jubilant in his celebration.
“It was wonderful, you know we got a couple of turnovers there, we came out, Metlock played his heart out.”
One Bomber fan who said he came from Ontario to watch the game remarked it was just a good game.
With the loss the Riders are 1-9, while the Bombers improved to 6-4.
