Saskatchewan students are paying some of the highest tuition rates in the country according to Statistics Canada.
Post-secondary students in the province are shelling out an average of $7,177 for the upcoming school year, making their fees the third highest in the country.
Saskatchewan students will pay higher tuition than Manitoba students who pay an average of $4,058, Alberta students who pay $5,750 and B.C. students who pay about $5,534. Ontario students will pay the most for this year’s tuition at $8,114 and students in Nova Scotia will be paying the second highest rates in the country at $7,218.
The average Canadian post-secondary student will be paying $6,373 in tuition fees for the school year, which is 2.8 per cent higher than last year.
