Convicted pedophile Graham James is set to have a parole hearing.
James, 63, will go before the Parole Board of Canada at a prison north of Montreal, according to a report in The Montreal Gazette.
He was sentenced to two years in prison in 2012 for sexually abusing Theoren Fleury and Todd Holt when they played for the WHL’s Swift Current Broncos. James was the team’s coach at the time.
That two-year sentence was increased to five years in 2013 following an appeal.
James was then sentenced to a further two years in January 2015 after being convicted of sexually abusing another former Broncos player. He was given day parole in January 2016 and has been living at a halfway house in Montreal. Thursday’s hearing is to decide whether James should get full parole.
James was previously sentenced to 42 months in 1997 for sexually abusing three other players he coached, including Sheldon Kennedy.
