Rush turned an 8-3 fourth quarter deficit into a 9-8 victory in its home opener.
Construction of the White City overpass moved one step closer to completion.
Girders were installed into the overpass that is being built at the highway 1 and highway 48 intersection.
The girders weigh around 92,000 lbs.
Minister of Highways and Infrastructure for the Government of Saskatchewan, David Marit, says construction is right where it should be.
“They’re on time, they’re on budget so hopefully the weather permits and we can get everything on track and these overpasses will open on schedule,” said Marit.
Garrett Doyle, area manager for area 3 with Regina Bypass Design Builders, says the overpass will help improve the safety of drivers around the area.
“This overpass will remove the conflict with highway 48 and north service road traffic with the conflict that’s going to exist with highway 1 traffic,” Doyle said. “It’ll provide free-flow lanes to merge and to exit the existing highway 1 so upon completion it’ll certainly be safer.”
Doyle also said the installation of the girders means the project “at this stage it’s approximately 60 per cent complete.”
The entire Regina Bypass project cost the province $1.88 billion.
