Jesse Shynkaruk scored twice to lead the Saskatoon Blades to a 5-1 win over the Swift Current Broncos in their season opener.
Mason McCarty, Josh Bruce and Logan Christensen also scored for Saskatoon. Logan Flodell turned away 21 of 22 shots for his first win as a Blade.
Flodell came within seconds of a shutout in his debut start, the Broncos scored their lone goal with 32 seconds left on the clock.
