Kolten Olynek is back home, and just in time to face his old team.
The 20-year-old forward was released by the Prince Albert Raiders on Wednesday and swiftly signed with the Saskatoon Blades. This will be his fifth WHL team after splitting 182 career games between Lethbridge, Spokane, Moose Jaw, and Prince Albert.
“Colton adds depth and experience to our group of forwards, and we expect his addition to providing some healthy competition in the room,” said Blades Associate General Manager, Steve Hildebrand in a press release.
Olynek gives Saskatoon three overage players in the lineup, as Ryan Graham still sits out with an injury.
A native of Saskatoon, Olynek is expected to play Thursday night, when the Blades host Prince Albert.
