The Saskatoon Hilltops earned their Thanksgiving feast after a massive 43-9 win over the Edmonton Wildcats.
That gives Saskatoon five straight wins and moves the record to 7-1 on the season.
It all got started in the first half, where the ‘Tops put up 40 points, led by two touchdowns from Sam Mike.
Up 40-7 to start the second half, Saskatoon did not add insult to injury. James Vause added a field goal to round out the scoring for Saskatoon, the only points for the Hilltops in the second half.
The ‘Tops close out the season in Winnipeg on Sunday, Oct. 16 when they face the Rifles.
HELP FROM THEIR RIVALS
Saskatoon football fans got more good news to go with a Hilltops win.
The rival Regina Thunder pulled out a narrow 30-23 win over the then undefeated Calgary Colts.
That means both Saskatoon and Calgary head into the final week even with 7-1 records. Calgary plays their final game in Edmonton on Saturday, Oct. 15 against the Huskies (5-3).
