As you digest the Thanksgiving turkey and likely will not take part in any physical activity today, CKOM sports reporter Ryan Brandt takes a look back at some of the biggest stories in sports this past week.
1. TOM BRADY INFLATES PATRIOTS OFFENSE
Is this what a ‘rusty’ Tom Brady looks like? pic.twitter.com/WFKUtbNCfS
— SNF on NBC (@SNFonNBC) October 9, 2016
With ‘Deflategate’ and the following suspension now behind him, Tom Brady picked up where he left off.
The New England Patriots quarterback lit up the Cleveland Browns for three touchdowns and 406 yards of passing in a 33-13 victory on Sunday.
Not bad for the 39-year-old pivot, who missed the first four games of the season.
2. RIDERS KEEP ON ROLLING
The Riders winning streak continues while Crapigna comes up clutch in overtime… https://t.co/8vx33LeOia
— Arielle Zerr (@arielle_zerr) October 8, 2016
It’s amazing how a couple of wins can change the attitude of an entire fanbase.
The Saskatchewan Roughriders made it three straight wins after a 32-30 overtime win over Ottawa.
While the playoff hopes were slim, it’s kept fans optimistic despite an Edmonton win on Monday that officially eliminated the Riders from the postseason.
And if you missed it, CJME host Darrell Davis went off on a caller to the Green Zone Post Game, who thinks it’s time to trade Darian Durant.
3. LOGAN FLODELL LEADS THE BLADES TO A PAIR OF BIG WINS
A much deserved WHL goaltender of the week award for Saskatoon Blades goalie Logan Flodell. The 19-year-old stopped 65 of the 66 shots he faced as the Blades beat Prince Albert 2-0 on Thursday and then downed Portland 3-1 on Saturday.
That was part of a four-game in five-night swing for Saskatoon, who employed a defensive style and went 2-0-1 for five of a possible six points.
And for all that effort, this is how the Blades thanked their emerging star goalie.

4. CROSBY CONCUSSED…AGAIN?
Pittsburgh Penguins captain Sidney Crosby has been sidelined with a concussion. https://t.co/WlUl5kUX1G

Fresh of a Stanley Cup, Conn Smythe trophy and World Championship it was hoped the NHL’s best player was past his concussion problems.
But the Pittsburgh Penguins captain will likely miss the season opener after being diagnosed with a concussion over the weekend.
But hopefully, the latest setback won’t keep Crosby out for too long after three straight seasons of playing almost every game. And of course, the Penguins need their star player as well.
5. 78% OFF STEAK???????????
Ruth’s Chris Ann Arbor is gonna think twice about promotions…
Especially when Michigan beat Rutgers, 78-0 https://t.co/cMHuFZ1byP pic.twitter.com/YBMs8cWpkR

Have you ever been to a Ruth Chris Steak House? It’s pretty pricey. My dad says it is pretty good.
Well, a franchise in Ann Arbour, Mich. almost footed a big bill for patrons after a special promotion.
A post on their Facebook page read that the point differential in an upcoming Michigan NCAA football game would dictate a discount of a matching percent. So in theory, if Michigan won by 5, the restaurant would discount 5% off every bill.
What ended up happening was a 78-0 blowout by Michigan over Rutgers and an updated post with a cap of 50%. But still, 50% off steak is not too shabby.
