Rush turned an 8-3 fourth quarter deficit into a 9-8 victory in its home opener.
The Victoria Royals opened up a 5-1 lead in the first period on the way to a 9-3 win over the Saskatoon Blades Tuesday night.
Saskatoon came into town on a high, beating Kelowna 4-2 to open a five-game B.C road trip. But a team known for its defense was opened up by the host Royals. Ryan Peckford led the way with one goal and five assists while eight different players found the net for Victoria.
Chase Wouters, Braylon Shmyr and Kolten Olynek scored for the Blades, who managed to close the gap to 6-3 before a second wave from the Royals.
Brock Hamm went the distance in the loss, making 26 saves on 35 shots.
There is little time to dwell on the big loss, Saskatoon is back in action Wednesday night in Vancouver against the Giants.
