Ghosts popping out of nowhere, goblins jumping out of coffins, and even legs getting grabbed.
Some of the sights at Berry Barn’s haunted house, which has created a buzz around Saskatoon for being the scariest.
“It was quite frightening,” Angie Rutkowski said, one of the many patrons who went through the house on Saturday afternoon.
“People jumping out of coffins was very scary. All of the jump scares were great, I’d give it a solid 10.”
The scares around every corner have patrons screaming at the top of their lungs.
“It’s the first time I’ve heard myself scream,” Jaiden Kitchen said. “I was so scared, but I’d definitely go through again.”
Kitchen said people following her was the scariest.
“They just pop out of nowhere, that was my favourite part,” she said.
Even the Mom’s give it a thumbs up.
“Oh my gosh, my heart is still racing,” Carla Kitchen said. “Really good scary parts and I was quite surprised with the human interaction, I really enjoyed myself.”
It took Jason Horbay over a month to put it together.
“We do a lot of handmade stuff, which makes it take so long,” he said.
“Once you blackout a greenhouse you’re working in the dark, which is tough.”
It’s the second year they’ve done the haunted house, which was lined out the door on Saturday afternoon.
“It’s good to here we got so many good reviews,” Horbay said. “We had good reviews last year, so we upped the ante for patrons.”
Halloween is the last day to check it out until 8 p.m.
Cost is by donation, which goes towards the SPCA.
“We just listen to the people and give them what they want,” Horbay said.
